On the tracks of Bruno Manser

The Penan and Kelabit are indigenous people of the interior of Sarawak, a Malaysian state on the island of Borneo. We will create a new and exciting documentary film. The film shooting will take three weeks, two of which will be spent with the Penan and Kelabit tribes in the Heart of Borneo. The world premiere will take place in Summer 2016 – GET READY!

Who are we?

We are two Swiss with respectively 14 and 20 years of Borneo experience, and we focus solely on the third largest island in the world, Borneo. The project focuses on research and preservation of indigenous cultures and traditions. It aims at creating a better awareness of the historical heritage not only amongst people in Borneo, as it will also show how indigenous traditions can inspire our very own daily activities.

That’s the point!

We people from Europe are quite spoiled. Anywhere, anytime, we can find a grocery shop to buy our daily bread. Forest people do not have the same conveniences. They have to deal with nature to obtain fruits, roots, plants and with a little luck also fish and meat.

Our documentary will summarize the astonishing survival skills of the Penan and Kelabit. It might be a historic moment for all of us, as we know that it will be a huge challenge and very difficult to protect the rainforest forever.

We do not want to tell too much here ;-) But, we need your support. Thanks to all!
