And – just a few days ago, I received copies of the physical release CD. So, for those of you who have been waiting patiently for over a year now, please know that your discs (and any other rewards for which you have pledged) will be going out in the post very shortly. Today I can announce that the disc is finally being sent to the pressing plant. The official release date for the digital and CD releases is set for November 17, 2023. In the run-up to this date, we will be releasing videos for individual tracks from the disc on my YouTube channel. If you are waiting for a physical copy of the disc, please note that they will begin shipping out to you as soon as I have them in my hands, which is likely to be early November. If you pledged at the ’Cosmic Dividends’ or ’Supernova Genius’ level and have not yet had your 1-hour zoom conversation, please get in touch so we can set that up. If you pledged at the ’Supernova Genius’ level, I will send you a manuscript page in November along with your physical CD.

I also have one other exciting piece of news. At the last minute, we were able to negotiate a double vinyl release for this album. As turnaround times are much longer than for CDs, these won’t be ready until about January. The album will be pressed on 180g audiophile vinyl with a beautiful gatefold cover. Copies will be very limited, but if you want to be first to reserve one, please get in touch privately via email and I will send you the details.

Dear friends, I’m happy to announce that a mystery angel benefactor has provided most of the missing funding we needed to release the disc. This remarkably generous act will most likely make it possible to maintain an autumn 2023 timeline for the release. While the individual in question prefers to remain anonymous, I wish to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude, and also to say that I will post more details, including the release date, very soon. Dear All, I owe you an update! The CD master is complete and I wish I could share the recordings with you immediately. However, the release date has had to be pushed back to the fall. Let me fill you in on what is happening. Some of the financial support for which we had budgeted did not come through as expected. I do not currently have the means to cover the resulting shortfall and am seeking alternative funding sources that would allow me to release the project. I had hoped that the Canada Council for the Arts would help, but they have declined — three times — to contribute to this project. In addition, some budgeted expenses have since increased sharply, especially CD pressing costs and other release-related expenses. So, while I am eager to share the incredible results of this recording with all of you, there is some work still to do. I will not fail to keep you updated and I thank you all for your patience and generosity. For those whose contribution includes a 1-hour zoom call, please feel free to get in touch via email to schedule a time – I don’t want to keep you waiting any longer :) PS: the included video link is a short excerpt from the disc, to give you an idea of what awaits.

Now that we have not only reached, but in fact surpassed our funding goal (!), it is only a matter of time until the new album reaches your hands. I wanted to send a quick update so that you know what is happening.

Currently, the mastering engineer Andreas Werner is editing and mixing the recordings in Zürich. This phase should be completed by about early September. Then I will work closely with the record label on designing the album, and hopefully, releasing it in three formats (double LP, CD and streaming audio).

Manufacturing times for vinyl LPs are currently on the order of 6-7 months worldwide due to the scarcity of pressing plants, and ever-increasing demand for this format. CDs could be made much more quickly. In any case, it will be some months until the finished album is ready, so we’ll have to be a bit patient, but hopefully you will have it by the spring at the latest.

Again, my deepest gratitude to all of you for making this happen.

Hi everyone, Just a few minutes ago we reached our goal!!! — thanks to an amazingly generous contribution for which I am profoundly grateful! I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting this campaign. It has been a wild experience, and to see it succeed is truly heartening. We also have a ’stretch goal’ for this campaign, which means that if we go over the initial goal amount, there is a secondary goal that would allow us to produce a double LP edition (because wouldn’t that be cool), in addition to streaming and CD formats. Dear friends, We are getting closer to our goal. Yesterday we passed the 50% mark and I am optimistic that with a big push, we can get reach our goal before the deadline on Thursday morning (CEST). Remember though, that this is an all-or-nothing campaign, meaning that if the goal is not reached, the project won’t be financed! If you have a spare moment, please don’t hesitate to spread the word about this campaign to anyone you know who might be interested.
