Les travaux pour approfondir le puits jusqu’à 20 mètres de profondeur (pour avoir 8 mètres d’eau) sont toujours en cours. Ils ont duré plus longtemps que prévu à cause de la dureté des matériaux rencontrés et la nécessité d’engager une équipe mieux équipée. A la reprise des travaux après le mois de Ramadan, la pompe extérieure utilisée pour vider l’eau pendant la creuse a grillé. Il a donc été décidé avec le technicien en charge, de placer les panneaux solaires temporairement sur le sol. Ceci a permis d’installer la pompe submersible définitive. Les panneaux seront ensuite déplacés sur le toit de l’abri toujours en cours de construction. Le puits fonctionne désormais à l’énergie solaire!☀️
Les premières pousses sortent gentiment de terre! 🌱
Une bonne surprise attendait Sissi et Sarah à Zagora lors de leur visite en avril: le beau-frère de Sissi Mustapha et son frère Si Mbark, directeur retraité de la palmeraie expérimentale de Zagora, nous offre généreusement 100 rejets de palmiers dattier Nejda (résistants au bayoud) de leur jardin pour les planter sur le terrain du puits de M’hamid! 🌴 Comme la saison pour la plantation est de mi-avril à mi-mai la préparation des rejets a immédiatement commencé! Ils ont été planté sur un hectare, à une distance de 10m sur 10m, sous la supervision experte de Si Mbark.
P.S Pour les contreparties de la photo et de la recette, nous ne vous avons pas oubliés. Nous attendons que le puits soit définitivement terminé pour vous envoyer la photo finale.
Die Arbeiten zur Vertiefung des Brunnens auf 20 Meter Tiefe (um 8 Meter Wassertiefe zu erreichen) sind noch im Gange. Diese dauern länger als geplant, da das angetroffene Material sehr hart ist und ein besser ausgerüstetes Team angeheuert werden musste. Als die Arbeiten nach dem Monat Ramadan wieder aufgenommen wurden, brannte die für das Ablassen des anfallenden Wassers verwendete Aussenpumpe durch. Daraufhin wurde mit dem zuständigen Techniker beschlossen, die Solarpaneele vorübergehend auf dem Boden zu platzieren. Dadurch konnte die endgültige Tauchpumpe installiert werden. Die Paneele werden zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt auf das Dach des noch im Bau befindlichen Unterstandes verlegt. Der Brunnen wird nun mit Sonnenenergie betrieben! ☀️
Die ersten Pflanzen wachsen langsam aus der Erde! 🌱
Eine freudige Überraschung erwartete Sissi und Sarah bei ihrem Besuch im April in Zagora: Sissis Schwager Mustapha und sein Bruder Si Mbark, pensionierter Direktor des experimentellen Palmenhains von Zagora, schenkten uns grosszügig 100 Ableger der bayoud-resistenten Dattelpalme Nejda aus ihrem Garten, um sie auf dem Gelände des Brunnens in M’hamid zu pflanzen! 🌴 Da die Pflanzzeit von Mitte April bis Mitte Mai ist, wurde sofort mit der Vorbereitung der Sprossen begonnen! Sie wurden in einem Abstand von 10m x 10m auf einem Hektar unter der fachkundigen Aufsicht von Si Mbark gepflanzt.
P.S Was die Gegenleistungen angeht (Foto und das Rezept): wir haben Sie nicht vergessen. Wir warten bis der Brunnen fertig ist, bevor wir Ihnen das endgültige Foto schicken.
Work to deepen the wellto a depth of 20 metres (to provide 8 metres of water) is still in progress. It has taken longer than expected due to the hardness of the materials encountered and the need to hire a better-equipped team. When work resumed after the month of Ramadan, the external pump used to empty the water during the works burnt out. It was therefore decided, with the technician in charge, to place the solar panels temporarily on the ground. This made it possible to install the definitive submersible pump. The panels will then be moved to the roof of the shelter still under construction. The well now runs on solar power! ☀️
The first sprouts are coming out of the ground! 🌱
A pleasant surprise awaited Sissi and Sarah in Zagora during their visit in April: Sissi’s brother-in-law Mustapha and his brother Si Mbark, retired director of the Zagora experimental palm grove, generously offered us 100 Nejda date palm shoots (resistant to bayoud) from their garden to plant on the M’hamid well site! 🌴 As the season for planting is from mid-April to mid-May the preparation of the palm shoots began immediately! They were planted at a distance of 10m by 10m, over 1 hectare under Si Mbark’s expert supervision.
P.S We haven’t forgotten you about the photo and recipe giveaways. We’re waiting for the well to be definitively finished before sending you the final photo.

Bonjour, bonjour!
Nous vous souhaitons à toutes et tous une très belle nouvelle année! En ce début d’année, nous vous apportons quelques nouvelles réjouissantes du puits.
La creuse et le renforcement du puits sont terminés depuis quelques semaines. L’eau a été atteinte à 14 m de profond et le puits en fait actuellement 16. Nous voulons encore creuser un petit peu plus afin de parer à l’éventualité de la baisse du niveau d’eau dans la nappe. La très bonne nouvelle est que cette eau n’est que très peu salée. Les panneaux solaires pour alimenter la pompe sont en cours de commande et la construction pour les installer est presque terminée.
Les toutes premières semences de luzernes ont été faites fin décembre. Tout s’annonce très bien pour ce beau projet et nous nous réjouissons des premières récoltes! 🌱💧

We wish you all a very happy New Year! As the new year begins, we bring you some exciting news from the well.
The digging and reinforcement of the well was completed a few weeks ago. We first hit the water at the depth of 14 m and the well is currently 16 m deep. We still want to dig a little deeper in case the water level in the aquifer drops. The very good news is that the water is only slightly salty. The solar panels to power the pump are on order and the construction work to install them is almost complete.
The very first alfalfa seeds were sown at the end of December. Everything is looking very good for this beautiful project and we’re looking forward to the first harvests! 🌱💧

Wir wünschen Ihnen allen ein schönes neues Jahr! Zu Beginn des neuen Jahres haben wir einige erfreuliche Neuigkeiten zum Brunnen.
Das Graben und Verstärken des Brunnens sind seit einigen Wochen abgeschlossen. Auf Wasser wurde in einer Tiefe von 14m gestossen und der Brunnen ist jetzt 16m tief. Wir wollen noch ein wenig weiter graben, um für den Fall gewappnet zu sein, dass der Grundwasserspiegel sinken würde. Glücklicherweise hat dieses Wasser nur einen sehr geringen Salzgehalt. Die Solarpanels für die Pumpe werden gerade bestellt und der Bau für die Installation ist fast abgeschlossen.
Die allererste Aussaat von Luzerne erfolgte Ende Dezember. Alles sieht sehr gut aus für dieses schöne Projekt und wir freuen uns auf die ersten Ernten! 🌱💧

Maintenant que la collecte est terminée, nous tenons à vous remercier encore une fois pour vos contributions, vos partages et vos retours si positifs! Les travaux du puits avancent bien. Une couche de roche dur a été atteinte à 9 m et la creuse nécessite désormais l’utilisation d’un marteau piqueur. L’avancée est donc plus lente mais le trou a atteint les 12 mètres de profondeur. On se réjouit de la suite des travaux et de commencer l’amélioration du puits du Bani. ☺️

The digging work is progressing well. A layer of hard rock has been reached at 9 meters, and digging now requires the use of a jackhammer. Progress is slower, but the hole reached 12 metres deep. We’re very excited with the progress on the first well and to start the improvements to the one in the Bani. ☺️

Die Arbeiten am Brunnen gehen gut voran. In 9 m Höhe wurde eine harte Gesteinsschicht erreicht und das Graben erfordert nun den Einsatz eines Presslufthammers. Es geht also langsamer voran, aber das Loch ist jetzt 12 Meter tief. Wir freuen uns auf die weiteren Arbeiten und die Verbesserung des Bani-Brunnens. ☺️

Le puits peut être construit!! Et ça, en 6 jours seulement!! C’est Incroyable ! MERCI INFINIMENT !! Les travaux commencent dans deux semaines si la chaleur le permet (47°C en ce moment)… C’est magnifique! 🤩
Mais si en une semaine vous avez construit un puits, pourquoi ne pas essayer d’en améliorer un autre avec les 38 jours restants? Une famille nomade du Jbel Bani au nord du plateau de Feija a parlé à Sissi de leur besoin d’une pompe solaire et d’un bassin abreuvoir au joli puits de pierres proche de leur campement qui est très isolé. Ceci sera d’une grande aide pour ces éleveurs de dromadaires et de chèvres et bénéficiera aussi aux autres familles en transhumance dans la région.
Le budget pour la pompe, les panneaux solaires et la construction du bassin est estimé à 6’000 CHF. Sissi en suivra la réalisation avec un ami de Zagora.

The well can be built! And that in just 6 days! Incredible! THANK YOU SO MUCH !! The work will starts in two weeks if the heat allows it (47°C right now)… It’s magnificent! 🤩
But if in one week you’ve built one well, why not try to improve another with the remaining 38 days? A nomadic family from Jbel Bani north of the Feija plateau told Sissi about their need for a solar pump and a watering basin at the pretty stone well near their camp, which is very isolated. This will be a great help to these camel and goat herders, and will also benefit other families transhumant in the area.
The budget for the pump, solar panels and construction of the pond is estimated at 6’000 CHF. Sissi will oversee the project with a friend from Zagora.
