Hinter «Cool Beans» und den köstlichen Brownies, Gipfeli und Sauerteigbroten steht das Holländische Paar Kees Nieuwenhuyse und Angelique Warntjes. Bereits 2006 begannen die beiden im Rahmen eines Sozialprojektes damit, zu backen und mit portablen Steinöfen an verschiedene Märkte in der Schweiz zu reisen und ihre Produkte anzubieten. Heute führen sie ihr Geschäft in der Markthalle Basel.
