Intimités Burlesques

The photography of Bobby C. Alkabes, is akin to a peeping tom view through a key-hole into the intimate World of the tattoo aficionado. Her images have a timeless quality to them that, inexorably, lure the viewer in. The leitmotif, or under-lining thread being; a glimpse of a view at the tattoo bearers and their choice of the symbolic; the indelible language of art, etched into skin. The ’Intimités Burlesques’ project is part of an ongoing work, in progress, that aims to a series of expositions and books surrounding this many faceted theme.
