The Blue Duck is about to embark on its biggest adventure since it was founded – and just in time for our 10th anniversary in 2027. In January, we’re moving to the Walzwerk: a place where creativity meets industrial charm, where ideas are free to flourish, and where we can finally quack as loudly and freely as we’ve always wanted to.

Our current brewery space has long since become too small. We need space: Space for more beer. Space for people. Space for special moments.

At the Walzwerk, we’re creating exactly that. A home for brewing passion. For loud laughter and quiet conversations. For celebrations, music and community.

With your support, we’re creating a brewery that is far more than just a production site. A place where beer is created. A place where events come to life, birthdays are celebrated and friendships grow. A place full of new beer-inspired ideas: fresh spent grain bread fresh from the oven, beer jelly, liqueur and other delights just waiting to be discovered.

My project is special because ...

The Blue Duck isn’t just a brewery – it’s a statement. Brewed by girls, right from day one. In an industry where people often smiled at us at first, then looked at us in surprise. We had to fight for our place – with quality, perseverance and plenty of passion. And that’s exactly what makes us so special.

Our move to the Walzwerk is our next bold step: From a cramped space to an open-plan experience brewery, where craftsmanship, creativity and community come together.

What sets us apart?

Brewed by girls – and proud of it. We prove that quality knows no gender.

Sustainable on the move. We deliver our beer – whenever possible – by bike. Local, clean, conscious.

Craftsmanship with heart. Every bottle is brewed and bottled by hand.

A new place to meet. Events, celebrations, beer tastings – a space that brings people together.

More than just beer. Spent grain bread from our own oven, beer jelly, beer liqueur, vinegar and lots of new beer-inspired ideas.

Community at the heart of it all. Die Blaue Ente is growing thanks to everyone who supports us, celebrates with us, drinks our beer and spreads the word.

This project is special because it was born out of passion – and is now becoming a place that inspires, connects and breaks down barriers.

Moving to Walzwerk is more than just a change of address for us – it’s a step into a future where we can give you even more of what we love: honest beer, genuine encounters, and heartfelt hospitality.

To get our new brewery up and running, we need many things that often go unnoticed from the outside – but make everything possible: brewing infrastructure, a stove and oven for fresh spent-grain bread, space for beer jelly, beer liqueur and new beer-inspired products, a hospitality licence, lighting, furnishings, and safe logistics.

And yes: since our new brewery is on the first floor – no lift, just a big, charming door – we even need forklift training to ensure brew kettles, malt, and pallets arrive safely.

🍞 Spent-grain bread & products – CHF 4,000 For a stove and oven, plus the basics for new beer-inspired creations.

🍻 Hosting guests – CHF 4,000 For the hospitality licence and everything needed to welcome you.

✨ Atmosphere & furnishings – CHF 3,000 For lighting and details that bring the space to life.

🧼 Dishes & hygiene – CHF 2,000 For a small dishwasher on site.

Logistics & setup – CHF 2,000 For transport, material handling, and forklift training.
