This is what it's all about.

To begin with, I would like to introduce my two co-editors and myself briefly:

Tamás Landesz is a senior manager at the UN specialized agency focusing on cancer prevention research;

Mr. Sangeeth Varghese, a world-renowned leadership thinker, strategy consultant and best-selling author;

and myself, Karine Sargsyan, Managing Director for International Biobanking and Education at Med Uni Graz.

Together, we are currently writing a book based on statements and visions of the WEF Young Global Leaders and future-oriented experts from the fields of business, science, politics and the arts, which will be published with Springer Nature in 2023.

Our aim is to create a handbook and a roadmap that will enable all of humanity, but specifically governments, innovators and businesses, to create a better future. In addition, it will create a framework for action, what we should prepare for, what the consequences would be and how and why they will change our cultural systems, mindsets, collective mentality and attitudes.

Throughout, we examine a wide range of areas such as leadership, democracy, geopolitics, cities, education, jobs, energy and climate change, finance and banking, communications, transport, religion and families. Thus, the book aims not only to model the future, but also the changes, actions and processes needed to achieve the desired goal.

My project is special because ...

Predicting the future has always been a subject of deep interest to mankind. Which is why deep down in history, royal courts were adorned by astrologers and soothsayers, while now our book shelves are well stocked with books including Yuval Noah Harari’s ’21 Lessons for the 21st Century’ and ’Homo Deus,’, Alvin Toffler’s ’Future Shock’ and ’The Third Wave’ and Ray Kurzweil’s ’The Singularity is Near.’

However, rather than taking quantum jumps in predicting the unseen future, ’The World 2050’ takes a view that our future is a compounded self of the present. If scientifically and statistically analysed by studying the current network effects, compounding changes and inflection points, a future model can be constructed, that can reliably forecast potential events, technological innovations, breakthroughs, and social changes that could shape the future of our world in 2050.

A reliable handbook and roadmap such as this would be a valuable resource to enable all mankind, but especially governments, innovators, and businesses to create a better future. However, we also realise that there would be several others, and not just government leaders, innovators and business doyens, interested in our findings.

This is what I need backing for.

Through crowdfunding, the results of our research and this book should also be made available to the general public because if it is made available to the general public (e.g. through book fairs, open access, online webinars, online marketing, readings, book presentation, press announcements, etc.), chapters such as the future of cities, the future of families, the future of education and the future of jobs would help them make informed decisions and shape the future of their next generations.
