Passionate beverage creator
My name is Jonathan, and I’m a mixologist. After training in the art of cocktails in the Netherlands, then working in numerous cocktail bars in Switzerland and abroad, I created my brand Bornand Liquors & Co in 2021 with the desire to bring my creative world to the general public.
The last two years have been rich in experience and experimentation. I began with cocktails in bottles, with attractive packaging, which were a great success at the holidays as original gifts. Then came liqueurs. After reading countless books and articles to develop original recipes like Nello’s, for example. Born of a desire to create a limoncello with a difference, I tested grapefruit, citron and clementine. The success was unanimous for the clementine, which to this day remains my best-selling product!
But I also encountered a few unpleasant surprises along the way… In November 2022, I set off for the Lausanne Christmas market with 6 great weeks of sales ahead of me, and now, after just one week, I’ve already had to pack up my stand and all my bottles, because the trade police have notified the market that the sale of spirituous alcohol is forbidden at their event, which they didn’t know…
But I didn’t let it get me down, and I kept on making crazy projects! In January 2023, I began 3 months of coaching Master’s students at the HEAD university in Geneva on the creation of completely delirious cocktail glasses, which were exhibited at Milan Design Week, where we even created a hidden bar in the exhibition, serving cocktails in their glasses.
Or again this summer with the «Clair-Obscur» evenings in collaboration with chef Aldwin Beets, where we imagined a 7-course meal combining food & cocktails in a unique setting… It even earned us a feature in Gault & Millau!
A little personal pride? The clients I’ve worked with over the last 2 years: HEAD (Geneva), Sotheby’s (Verbier), Foodhack (Martigny), Frontiers (International), Brasserie de Montbenon (Lausanne), La Crique (Morges), Sweet Bean Coffee (Etoy), Particules en Suspension (Lausanne), Crans Ambassador (Crans-Montana), La Station (Lausanne), Jajaffe (Lausanne), Morand (Martigny), La Ferme Vaudoise (Lausanne), L’épicerie Valaisanne (Lausanne), La Cave du Chardon (Vevey & Lausanne), Le topinambour (Lausanne), L’épicerie du Pont de Chailly (Chailly), and many more. ..
So, what’s next? Well, I invite you to my bar…
But where's your bar ?
Well, actually, that’s even better. Starting in 2024, I’ll be coming to your homes and events. Yes, the plan for next year is to introduce you to my world by coming directly to your home to serve you my creations and much more. Imagine a bright orange Citroën, converted into a mobile bar, arriving at your party to serve delicious cocktails, as well as beer, wine and soft drinks… tempting, isn’t it?
So to make this project a reality, I need your help!
With your help, I’ll be able to finance this wonderful mobile bar and offer you everything I’ve been talking about. Currently in preparation, it’s being fitted out and custom-painted so as to be fully operational by February.
Each and every one of your contributions will help me make this crazy project a reality. Whether you choose a small or large contribution, you’ll be entitled to lovely little gifts and will be listed as one of Clémentine’s «Mécènes» on my website, where your name will be mentioned.
Thank you in advance for your help!
