History of freedom of thought and speech
My name is Julian Chalabi and I’m a philosophy student at the University of Vienna. Since I’m an adolescent, I love to write on philosophical topics. One of my big fields of interest was and is the freedom of speech, and – which is connected with it – the freedom of thought. These two Human Rights have not been subject of too many academic books. But especially in the light of current problems, this topic reveals its actuality and it is my wish to provide even those who are not familiar with Philosophy an overview of how these two Human Rights have developed in history; this is my motivation. It’s only me working on this project with the kind support of some grafic designers and the printing centre of the ETH (Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich) for printing my work.
Those are the reasons I want to write a several-volume-thick work about the history of freedom of thought and speech. In order to manage to do this, I have to buy a lot of books on the subject, do research invest time etc.; this can cost quite a lot. But for this I kindly ask for the financial support of those who, like me, interested in this important topic (or want to find out more about it). For anyone who wonders about what kind of texts I have already produced, feel free to visit my website www.julianchalabi.com and read my texts. The work which I have planned will be released – if support is available – 6 months from the start of the project on.
I thank all supporters in advance!
