Justice for Fabienne W

History

Musician Fabienne W. has been living a nightmare for over three years. She is raped at the end of 2021. A week later, she is invited to dinner by friends of the unconvicted abuser and beaten up by several men in front of the cameras. Her unconvicted abusers are known. But they are treated with kid gloves by the authorities. SRF reported on this for the first time in 2024. After the «Rundschau» report, hundreds took to the streets in Schaffhausen. The petition «Protect survivors instead of perpetrators!» was signed by over 10,000 people. This triggered a broad debate in Schaffhausen about sexualised violence, the work of the police, the public prosecutor’s office and the government.

Why we collect money

Now the public prosecutor’s office wants to discontinue the criminal proceedings for rape, sexual assault and defilement. Fabienne wanted a change of defence. The first lawyer and the new lawyer agreed to this. The public prosecutor’s office prevented this. Even when the first lawyer stopped working, Fabienne was not allowed to switch to her desired defence lawyer. The Federal Supreme Court has already criticised in the past that the lead public prosecutor from Schaffhausen chooses the public defender. We are now collecting money so that Fabienne can have independent legal representation.
