Close Encounters Theatre Zürich is delighted to tell you that the next full-scale Broadway Theatre play we’re producing is Grease! The musical is coming to you live in October 2025 at Millers Theater in Zürich!
We have a cast of 33 incredible young people that are pursuing their dreams. They are learning the art of acting, singing and dancing with us and for many this production will be their first big stage performance.
In order to make this production a success, we need your support to fund a professional live band, to hire professional set, lighting and costume designers, and talented educators that will be working with the cast.
We’re so grateful for all of your support over the years. With your help we’ve produced Cabaret, Spring Awakening, Little Shop of Horrors and The Addams Family. Now we’re ready to shine the limelight on CET’s rendition of Grease!

We are Close Encounters Theatre, a dynamic female-founded and led theatre company in Zürich. We enable youth and adults of Zürich and surrounding regions to learn the art of acting, singing and dancing and to perform in professional-quality productions. We are producing the musical «Grease» which we will perform at Millers in Zürich in October 2025.
Our project gives young actors from the Zürich area the unique opportunity to participate in a main-stage production in one of Zürich’s most renowned theatres. All are amateurs.
Over a period of six months, from May to October 2025, we are training them in acting, singing and dancing and preparing them for their stage performance. A local live band will support the actors. The musical will be performed in English.
Close Encounters Theatre, a women-founded and led company, shows young people that women can successfully lead and work in all aspects of theatre—from directing and playwriting to design and production. By highlighting these often behind-the-scenes roles, we inspire youth to see broader career possibilities. Our arts education also helps build confidence, fostering a healthy sense of self and motivation.

Our production will be professionally produced, with a lot of passion and countless hours of work. We, Tara Brodin (Director, Voice Coach), Sivan Perlstein (Choreographer), Mattia Scheiwiller (Music Director), David Bircher (Music Director), Sally Grant (Costume Designer), Isabelle Valera (Set Designer), Eleni Dimitriadis (Props Designer) and Tim Hupf (Stage Manager) are the artistic team behind Grease.
We will hire local live musicians, experienced stage builders and light and sound technicians for our production. We have booked the perfect professional stage at Millers Theater in Kulturareal Mühle Tiefenbrunnen.
We will bring a professional show to the stage to offer our actors an unforgettable experience. Your support helps us to cover some of the costs, e.g. for the costumes, the stage design, the musicians and our lighting technician.
