Présentation de François Duruz

On the Begnines alpine pasture, François has been a shepherd for years. The day the wolf arrived, things didn’t change as dramatically as one might think.

What stands out about François is his complete lack of posturing. No battle to fight, no side to defend. Just an honest perspective—balancing legitimate concern for his flock with a kind of respect for an animal that, as he puts it, «is simply living its life as a wolf».

In this Reel, we share that very perspective—one of a man facing on the ground what everyone talks about, but few truly experience. 🐺

Présentation de Jean-Marc Landry

Dear contributors,

Today, we’d like to introduce you to one of the figures in La Part des Loups: Jean-Marc Landry.

Nicknamed «Monsieur Loup», Jean-Marc is a leading expert on wolves. He’s also a specialist in pastoralism and in supporting farmers and shepherds as they adapt to the predator’s return.

Here’s what Julien Regamey – with whom he has been tracking the wolves of the Jura for several years – has to say about him:

«Jean-Marc has become a friend, and someone from whom I’ve learned a great deal. He taught me, among other things, how to use mapping to better understand wolf movements, how to cross-reference field data, and how to strategically choose camera locations for tracking. Above all, by his side, I learned to adopt a far more scientific approach to everything we observed.»

Jean-Marc has been involved in La Part des Loups from the very beginning, both in the film and the book. He brings his experience, knowledge and unique perspective to the project.

🎬 In the video below, it’s his turn to share the story of his encounter with Julien and a chapter of the history they’ve shared over the years.

A big thank you to Noé Wisard for the editing.

With your support, this long-term fieldwork can become a film and a book. If the project resonates with you, please share the campaign – every share brings us closer to our goal. 🐺

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, The La Part des Loups team

Meet Julien Regamey

It’s been nearly ten years since Julien has been following the story of Boucle d’Or and Gros Pépère, the first wolf pair to return and settle in the Jura after nearly 150 years without a pack.

Ten years of observing, filming, understanding… but above all, striving to maintain that middle path he holds so dear.

Because the Jura is about wolves, but also about farmers, shepherds, herds and the alpine pastures that are part of our history and landscapes.

This film won’t take sides – for or against. It will simply tell a story, with all its complexity, encounters and realities.

The story of Boucle d’Or and Gros Pépère, through all these years spent by their side.

La Part des Loups, coming to cinemas in autumn 2027. 🐺

A big thank you to @noewisard for the editing and for capturing the essence of these words in images and rhythm. 🎬
