Die Mediatorin Esther Haas hat Eritrea über ihre Vorstands- und Projektarbeit bei medico international schweiz kennengelernt. Sie reiste anfangs 1997 das erste Mal nach Asmara. Seither haben sie Land und Leute nicht mehr losgelassen. Das Musikausbildungsprojekt in Asmara baut auf der Projektarbeit für SUKE auf, deren Geschäftsleiterin sie bis April 2018 war. Alle Beteiligten arbeiten ehrenamtlich.
