Sie studierte von 2007 – 2013 Fotografie und Bewegtbild bei Prof. Tina Bara und Medienkunst bei Prof. Alba D'Urbano an der Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig (D). Werners bisherige künstlerischen Arbeiten beschäftigen sich mit den Themen Identität und Migration.
