Marta adopted Mértola and Alentejo to live in, one of the most arid and depopulated regions in Europe and has dedicated her time and passion to solving complex problems, through bottom up processes with the community, involving concepts such as Regenerative agriculture, Agroecology , Agroforestry, Sustainable food systems, Rural entrepreneurship and Social innovation.
