This is what it's all about
We are compagnie O., a dance company based in Zurich, and have been invited to the IDEA Festival in Amman, Jordan with our piece poleidoskop at the end of September 2025. This is a great opportunity for us: We can make our work internationally visible and engage in exchange with local artists and audiences. At the same time, the current political situation unfortunately presents us with particular challenges: many international donors have withdrawn their support for the IDEA Festival. That’s why the festival can’t cover any fees or travel costs this year – we’re now relying on crowdfunding to finance our participation.
Us and our piece
Our compagnie: We are compagnie O. and were founded in 2017 by Marie Alexis. We are a creative meeting place for artists: from various disciplines throughout Switzerland and worldwide. Our works, inspired by personal and social themes, offer space for aesthetic experiences, reflection and diverse associations. We view artistic practice as «thinking in action». In the compagnie we also research inclusive working methods with a focus on neurodiversity, whereby the unique perceptions of neurodivergent members (autism, ADHD, high sensitivity/neurosensitivity) significantly shape the way labour work and the aesthetics of the works. We also see ourselves as a laboratory for new forms of togetherness.
Our piece: The Night Walk poleidoskop is dedicated to hyperintensive sensory perception as experienced by autistic people and people with ADHD. Three performers lead the visitors through the night. They carry light sources on their bodies and vibrate their surroundings through their movements. Constantly changing (dis)orders and patterns emerge visitors hear through headphones: inside, real-time manipulated ambient noise. A shared experience of losing yourself in the world of the senses and an invitation to immerse yourself in neurodivergent ways of perceiving.
