Jules’ story begins with a loss - no child should ever experience:
His parents were murdered in Congo – a country shaken by years of political violence and insecurity. At 10, he was alone. At 16, he had to flee: across Africa, three years without papers in Tunisia, and then the life-threatening journey to Europe. He survived. In 2023, he arrived in Switzerland – exhausted, but determined to build a new life.

His new family in Switzerland: a home in the restaurant Acqua
In March 2025, he found something with us at the Acqua restaurant that he had not had in years: a home. We – the Acqua team – started this campaign because we see Jules every day. He is not just an employee. He is family. And that’s why we are fighting for him. We stand by him because we see how much heart, effort and dignity he puts into his life here. How deeply he wants to belong – and how much he deserves that chance.

Why we launched this campaign
Everything began with a notice from the authorities: a rejection that means Jules’ stay in Switzerland is under immediate threat. Deportation would not only destroy his future – it would put his life at risk. No one deserves to be sent back into danger after everything they have survived. Jules is expected to return to a country where political violence and insecurity remain a harsh reality – and where no one is waiting for him. In the worst case, he would be sent straight back into the same danger he escaped as a teenager.
To prevent this, he urgently needs legal support. The CHF 5,600 we are raising will fund a specialized lawyer, procedural costs, and the appeal against deportation – giving Jules a fair chance at all. We are raising funds for his future, his safety, and for the person who has found a new family in us. Every donation protects Jules – and gives him hope. ❤️
